i’m pretty jealous of ancient philosophers they really benefited from all the low hanging platitudes like damn i’m in competition against the whole internet for one iota of originality and they got famous for bangers like: “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” or “patience is a virtue”

Extrapolating the concept and summarizing it in a sentence is exactly what philosophers did not do. Usually behind these sentences exists the body of a written work, a treatise, a discourse that most likely very few have had the pleasure of delving into. For those who have not or for students in a high school there is a tendency to encapsulate the philosophical concept in a "quotation," which very often is a symbolic statement of a much larger study or reflection.
