I actually started a small specialized firm a few years back.  Startup funded almost entirely by ETH; no PE or outside investors.  Went 19 months without pay while making payroll out of pocket, before we hit equilibrium. 

It was hard.  Wouldn’t change it for the world now that we’ve come through on the other side.

Would love to go independent contractor but don't think I could pull it off
