What do folks here think of the NFT mandatory vs optional royalty discussion currently going on?

Feels like FC is a much better place to have a conversation than on the blue app.

1/ Most ppl interested in web3 ideals want creators to get paid, not for traders to pump volume at good margin. Creator-friendly options that present trust, safety, good UX will continue to do well long-term

4/ Last thing, lots of noisy data flying around on the blue app. Important to view the data in context. ie wash trading + pure trading use-cases muddy the picture quite a bit

2/ Dovetails with web3 identity, eg worth losing social cred bc you skirted royalties to buy your NFT?

3/ Glad this brings focus on how to make royalties enforceable on-chain. Similarly healthy to question & innovate around seller's fees vs buyer's premium (see Beeple on this)
