this is Unicode character U+2384

it’s the Compose key from Digital Equipment Corp computers, early 80s

it reminded us of: 

1. art (square) and commerce (circle), which we aspire to help reimagine
2. a chain of unique links 
3. Michael Jordan (#23) who started in the NBA in '84

so we made it our logo.
