how do people start publishing/doing research in crypto?

i’ve never had the opportunity to do something like that formally, but it’s always been appealing and seems good for career trajectory

what kind of research? like technical mechanism design type stuff or investor-style analysis about a sector, topic etc?

Probably work with someone already in academia

So best way is to befriend a prof or phd student
