is "art" more valuable on the Ethereum L1 network vs a L2 like Base/Zora? and what about chains like Tezos? does it matter what chain you mint on? @jessepollak @vitalik.eth

any asset is fundamentally more valuable on the Ethereum ledger than any other ledger that existed after it, like Base or Tezos. Ethereum is only second to the Bitcoin ledger in that regard. factors that contribute to this include: age, socio-economic security, ledger integrity, and even institutional support. 1/x

the lack of credible socio-economic security and institutional support is why Ethereum Classic falls behind Ethereum, despite it being _arguably_ ahead in age. so it matters where you mint because it defines the properties and history that the asset can inherit from its host ledger. 2/x

note: a ledger can offer specialisation, such that a particular set of factors are concentrated to give it authoritativeness over a specific set of offerings. for example, if every major art gallery/museum in the world trusted the Tezos ledger for their industry, Tezos would be a better ledger for art related assets.

interesting, but aren't you just saying "since it was first, it's better?" or is there more to it?
