I’ll bite: this is my 4th of these notifications — end to end, how do i accomplish this task in a way that?: - will take me 5 mins or less - gives me confidence in wallet choice (new vs existing, and subsequent steps) - convinces me why i should feel confident doing this assume: - i’ve been dabbling in crypto/web 3 for over 10 years - i’m Richard Thaler-style “lazy” - i’m capable of figuring this out on my own, but for some unknown reason am unmotivated to

Do you have a wallet already? If you have a wallet, and the browser extension is installed, and you're logged into it, then you just go to "Verify an Address" in Warpcast, then "Connect Wallet", the extension will pop up and you approve it. This is easiest on the web, not mobile.

I used metamask at first, but I imported the same wallet into coinbase wallet. The mobile experience on coinbase is better, plus they're building more of an *experience* into the app. That's my main software wallet, not counting custodial wallets built into apps and my first wallet that I lost a long time ago.

sooo interesting! what was the experience like importing that wallet into coinbase wallet? does the link to metamask remain like a vestigial organ? and why’d ya do it like that?

The experience is just like logging in -- you need your seedphrase or private key, then the coinbase wallet app accesses your wallet at the same address and all the assets are already there. I did it this way because I didn't want to change addresses and send all my stuff to a new address. I can still log in with metamask if I want, and all the same coins and NFTs are there too.

seeing if I understand — in theory are you trusting both metamask and coinbase with read/write access to your wallet then in this case?

AFAIK neither app can read or write unless I'm logged in. I don't log in to metamask anymore.
