Day 1 reflections 👇

🔵🚑 Too many unforced errors from Dems. Biden clung on too long. No primary wtf. Antagonized Trump to bring him back into relevance. Worst campaign in my life time and a giant wake up call to party leadership.

🔴🪄 Trump subtle pivot from far right extremists to tech-forward moderates has been effective and fascinating to watch. He shored up his base in person while attracting new voters via new allies. Focus on domestic economy above all else clearly resonated. He’s either learned a ton from last 8 yrs or gotten way better advisors (probably both).

Predictions for the next 4 yrs 🇺🇸

⚔️ Continued rise of protectionism & nationalism (trending w/ rest of the world).

🤷‍♀️ Deregulation on domestic tech & business.

🫵 Rise of states rights on social issues.

🌱 Growth of independent parties + advocates, starting with local (ex: GrowSF, Forward Party).

🌶️🤔 Trump will surprise ppl with Supreme Court appointees. 

🕰️🤞 Rebirth of Democratic party with young, bold voices from outside establishment + pulse on practical issues.

Yeah I’m more optimistic about rise of independent parties happening than actual rebirth of DNC. I just think that’s a longer path to the national stage.

If DNC was smart they’d do it internally and intentionally. Or maybe a Trump-like figure emerges on the left and blows the party up.

"rebirthing" the DNC would be a mistake, any face-lift will be insufficient and cost the '28 election, this cant be reformed, a new party needs to be built from scratch. never let them live down the last 3 primaries (robbing bernie twice then skipping primary altogether).

they are out of touch and delusional and they'll spend the next 4 years promising they can change, while changing the absolute bare minimum acceptable to most of their base.
