Things move very quickly once the right building blocks are available. It didn’t take 5-10 years from iPhone release to start seeing the potential for iPhone apps. Or for gpt and the million apps built on that. Granted we’d have to see something really big tomorrow to really speed things up.

wanna name your favorite iPhone apps from 2012 that are not owned by facebook today? 2017 is the year where apps started to get really good. the first few years of apple’s VR will be rough.

Who cares if they’re owned by Facebook lol πŸ˜‚ Instagram, WhatsApp, Uber, Facebook, Spotify, Slack, Snapchat, YouTube… looking at my phone I think almost all the apps were around back then in some form. The scooter ones weren’t. And the delivery ones I didn’t use back then.

because facebook caused the big push towards iPhone apps. they were always one of the first to ship well designed software. slack didn't launch until 2013. snapchat only got good a year later. youtube app just launched in september 2012 after apple had the native crappy version for 5 years.
