Bitcoin is a blockchain for a single application (sound money), and people who follow the Bitcoin religion do so because they believe sound money solves many of society's current problems. They believe there's too much going on with the world computer and most other coins

I'd argue they are not better in one very important way - market cap. Money (these days) is valuable because people perceive it to be valuable. Bitcoin has a phenomenal narrative, and that matters in this space.
