I want to learn guitar. does anyone have any recommendations

Get a teacher tbh. I had a teacher and learnt. Self taught people from scratch is kind of an idealised myth. People nowadays lack the perseverance to do it. Had to be jimi hendrix locked in a room in a pre digital time

+1 ive been "self taught" my whole life, i like to play and ill jam every now and then but never practiced very rigorously or got very good, i started in high school and im 37 now and i still only know like 12 songs, i should have started with a teacher and im looking into lessons now
