The opposite. It's scaling Ethereum horizontally (the only way anything can ever really scale). AMMs need their own blockspace, because they make every other transaction on the chain more expensive due to MEV, and cross-chain interoperability is not far away. Every app that reaches any scale will eventually want it's own blockspace. This is very forward-looking to a near future where you can use apps from other chains without bridging liquidity. Super bullish.

The relevant mechanism here is Jevons Paradox. A cheaper resource gets used even more. Enabling more use cases and connecting more points of friction inevitably increases the amount of opportunities for burning more ETH. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jevons_paradox
