I was working on something and I decided to ask what are the potential benefits and drawbacks of storing NFT metadata in the cloud? Do you guys have any idea

Yeah that makes sense storing the actual content in the cloud helps with scalability and accessibility

Usually you want the metadata onchain and the more heavy data/media/content in the cloud

I'd say the main benefit is convenience (very easy to store a file in the cloud without needing to create a new account with a service) and the main drawback is impermanence (no guarantee that the link will be available "forever").
