One evening, I decided to take a walk through the city streets. The air was cool, and the lights from the shops reflected on the wet pavement. As I passed a small café, I saw someone sitting alone, staring at their coffee. For a moment, our eyes met, and we exchanged a small smile. It was a simple, silent connection between two strangers. I kept walking, thinking about how many lives cross paths every day. Each person has their own story, their own worries, their own dreams. That small moment reminded me how connected we all are, even in the busiest places.

Emma walked into the café, craving her usual latte. The line was long, but she didn’t mind; the aroma of fresh coffee filled the air. A man ahead of her struggled to find his wallet, and without thinking, she offered to pay for his drink. Surprised and grateful, he smiled and thanked her sincerely. Later, as Emma sipped her coffee, she felt a quiet happiness knowing her small gesture had brightened someone’s day. The warmth lingered, just like the coffee in her hands.

I'm two weeks into readings from @phil's Silicon Valley Canon book course. It's great. Here are some select takeaways. --- The story of great v0s being built in a couple days is laughably common. - Gmail - "1 day" - Viaweb – "a couple days" - Ebay - "one long weekend" And they were simple too: Paul Graham's viaweb, an e-commerce platform, launched without the ability to process payments. You couldn't process a credit card transaction until 2 years after launch. eBay launched without the ability facilitate payments, it couldn’t even guarantee the buyers paid the sellers, just list and bid. Reviews were in a forum, separate from the bidding experience. https://jtgi.xyz/posts/sv-canon-i/

On a chilly autumn morning, a man decided to take a stroll in the park to clear his mind. As he walked, he noticed a stray dog sitting by a bench, looking lost and hungry. Feeling compassion, he approached the dog and offered some of his snack. The dog gratefully accepted, wagging its tail in appreciation. After a few moments, the man spotted a "Lost Dog" poster nearby with the same dog’s picture. He quickly called the number on the poster and arranged to return the dog to its owner. The reunion was heartwarming, with the owner expressing immense gratitude. The man left the park that day feeling a sense of fulfillment, knowing he had made a difference.

A colleague once shared a story about an ordinary day that took an unexpected turn. He was walking home from work when he noticed his phone battery was about to die. Just as he was about to cross the street, he saw a woman drop her wallet. Without thinking, he quickly picked it up and rushed to give it back to her. The woman was incredibly grateful, and as they exchanged a few words, they realized they lived in the same neighborhood. She offered him a ride home, saving him a long walk. It was a small encounter, but it reminded him that a simple good deed can sometimes lead to unexpected connections.
