If Caden is excited about a new keyboard, it's gonna be a banger. This is a 5 column staggered ergo split wireless keyboard, and he's offering to assemble?? I'm in for my first new keeb since the NovaTouch TKL I got in 2016!

What is the learning curve for re-learning how to touch type with one of these?

My guess: pretty hard Would defer to @cbxm or someone else who's made the leap

moving from the typical staggered rows over to staggered columns (or even ortholinear, which is a square grid) is... a magical experience. you'll love it. your hands will be like "oh my, silly me, that key isn't exactly where i remember it, it's actually in that place that makes WAY more sense, haha, oops!" and it's a grand old time just like that for maybe two or three weeks, and then it pretty gently fades into being a normal experience again. but the leap from a keeb with 80+ keys (a TKL has 87) to one with sub-50 is atrocious for a month solid, but you'll feel like you're the captain of the USS Voyager the entire time because of all the tricks you have to pack it and THAT feeling never goes away.

I would be going from a comparatively / very / large keyboard... (see keyboard on desk in QC for reference) And I sometimes need to type in Cyrillic But I've wanted to switch to something like that totem for a long time https://warpcast.com/eirrann.eth/0xc50c07c7

gah! 😍 i remember seeing your setup back when gwynne's was borked for a minute. so pretty! super curious how Cyrillic input works on a regular keyboard. do some keys handle multiple letters, AltGr style?
