@infecteddotfun did not “crash @base”

Their app didn’t calculate gas prices correctly (or at all).

So when gas prices spiked, the app had every tx fail because it kept under-pricing them.

This being a mistake that’s literally impossible for any web3 dev to make leads us straight to the culprit: vibe coding.

Honestly I think vibe coding overall is great 

Love seeing coding become more accessible, and I’ve no doubt as LLMs and tooling advances, we’ll legitimately see some indie gaming hits come from this 

However if you’re writing anything which involves a smart contract or a financial asset

Yeah this is where the “what can I build with no coding experience?” question always makes me cringe a bit.

Like it’s cool to be able to build something but if you can’t read or write ANY code, the likelihood of something being wired up wrong under the hood is massive.
