If we think about the idea that digital fashion allows people to wear anything ( even garments that transcend the limitations of the human body - true digital fashion ) and combine it with the increasing immersion in digital lives, it becomes clear that digital fashion is poised to become synonymous with traditional fashion ( embraced, adopted ) Social status is one of the most significant drivers of human behavior, and fashion has always played a role in signaling where someone stands on the social ladder. Today, imo, people often wear similar garments ( fundamentally ), albeit in different models, to compete in this “status game” While these clothes are worn physically, the primary place they’re showcased is on social platforms It’s only a matter of time before people begin to “look around” and notice that many of those they are competing with are wearing the same styles. In that moment, the desire for distinction will grow. People will seek 1/2

something new and unseen to stand out and draw attention ( because attention often translates to status ) This is where digital fashion will come into play. It offers the opportunity to stand out in a way that physical garments often can’t. Digital fashion provides uniqueness, creativity, and limitless expression, fulfilling the desire for status and attention While some may believe digital fashion is “dead” I see it as more alive than ever. Its current “hiatus” is simply the foundation for a greater rise. As digital lives expand, more people will begin to desire digital fashion, and like traditional fashion, it will become an essential part of their lives🌹
