In France there’s no such thing as political donations for elections.

Parties get reimbursed for their campaign expenditures by all taxpayers as long as they achieve a minimum threshold (5% of votes IIRC)

I think it’s a healthier system where money isn’t such a strong determinant of political outcomes, and it’s also vastly less wasteful

I believe there are tightly enforced spending limits
