Aren’t we all just walking carbon wrappers? Humanity’s moat is free will, yet people throw it away for a perceived feeling of safety. If your value can be reduced to inputs to a system designed to keep you ingratiated to it - you are a slave. A slave in mind is as good as a slave in body in a knowledge economy.

It's a raw, over simplified take. But it's not entirely unfounded. It's not a modernity challenge, a political challenge, or an economic challenge. You're describing the human condition and the primal evolutionary forces at play in human organizational behavior.

I’m always looking for better ways to do things and I strongly feel there’s a better way to do politics, education, inputs of labour than the way it’s done. I strongly feel AI will help the masses perform more meaningful labour and in doing so help us all think bigger, and leapfrog our collective consciousness.

That's awesome - don't ever lose that mindset. Like every transformational technology, AI has the potential to help make the world more equitable, but it's not a guarantee. It's an intentional choice followed by action. Nearly always hard earned through blood, sweat and tears.

I’m ready and willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears so your children and my future children don’t have to.

Forces of capitalism very strongly favor capture by individuals/entities intent on maximizing narrowly defined self-interest. If you want to fight for greater equity, find a way to build it in starting from that foundational assumption.

This is why we need self-sovereign AIs; otherwise, the collective will completely subjugate the individual.

So the answer is to completely subjugate the collective to a non-human individual?

I was thinking along the lines of personal AIs that serve the individual and ensure complete privacy. I don't want corporatist entities to know the content of my conversations with my AI or to have influence over the AI.

The future is now friend with the purchase of a $40,000 A100 and a decent rig you too can have a locally hosted personal AI assistant. The barriers to entry on personal AI assistants will come down as per Moore’s law. With advancements in superconductors we will see quantum computers in our lifetime.
