Someone asked me for advice on which Laptop to buy. I suggested going for a custom laptop with Linux pre-installed. Specifically, I recommended: 1 - System76.com 2 - Frame.work 3 - Novacustom.com These brands allow you to customize your Laptop according to your needs, such as adding more RAM and Storage.

As a word of warning being a Framework user, their device drivers are very old and they keep promising to update them but haven't yet. Have also heard some concerns about running Linux on them. Otherwise, nice hardware and easy to upgrade/repair.

Not sure about recommending a laptop, the 16 looks good but they're quite pricey. The device driver issue for the 12th Gen is still a concern (latest driver pack is dated July 2022). Would be worth checking the Linux forums to see how others have got on. At least with Linux there's lots of choice, and ability to hack.
