I personally think "own/control your own data" being the punchline for most web3 products is at best extremely weak esp. when facing consumers. Consumers don't tend to optimize for "safety" when they are looking for fun. It's rarely ever the primary hook.

agreed, most consumers only change habits after something actually goes wrong for them or someone they relate to. not to preemptively to reduce risk have you seen good hooks for web3? government imposed capital controls on collapsing currencies seems to do it

There’s definitely carrots and sticks in terms of incentives Misbehaving gov’ts would def be a stick NFTs and access to tokens with 100x potential are carrots Positive and negative incentives are both important!
