a big upside of building in public. people get pulled to your journey. you get to build your community while building your thing. downside? none. people might steal the idea? if you let them steal it and outdo you, it is theirs anyway.

The only downside I can think of(which is rare) is if you are the next Steve Jobs and you know what people want better than they know
