The first day of spring, known as Nowruz, is one of the most significant ancient celebrations in Iranian culture and some countries in the region. Nowruz symbolizes the renewal of nature, the beginning of the new year, and the celebration of life. On this day, people welcome the new year by cleaning their homes, setting up the Haft-Seen table, visiting family and friends, and performing special rituals. Nowruz was recognized as a global cultural event by the United Nations in 2009.
