Victoria Falls Between the Zambezi River and the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Victoria Falls is located. It was named after a traveler named David Livingstone and was given as a gift by Queen Victoria. The native name is more interesting, meaning “thunder cloud.” The name refers to the powerful spray of water from the waterfall and its roaring sound. This amazing phenomenon is 1,700 meters wide and 108 meters deep, making it twice as high as Niagara Falls. It is home to many rhinos, lions, and hippos.
