religious beliefs in technology, crypto, etc are some of the most nefarious 

they’re often rooted in an good, value-oriented impulse, but once enough ppl to form an in group believe the thing and want to memetically signal their belief/choice to others, things get irrational/stupid quick

This is something everyone in Ethereum should read imo. You hear so many ideas that are indistinguishable from religious beliefs and have to come acquire some air of infallibillity. People turn around and look like you just questioned the Bible in church when you try to question them.

we should be increasingly uncomfortable as the organic ecosystem scales, and it can only scale w/ some mixture of legitimacy & plurality.

im optimistic that current discussions remain healthy, & the friction is from the platform's tone.

One of my favourite crypto-religious statements is "Blockchains will be the only way for AGIs to come to consensus" or some variation.

The sacred cow that comes to mind is optimizing the roadmap for home stakers, when the economics of running one is already irrational
