2/ Currently, there are no simple solutions for Ethereum EOA users (e.g. MetaMask, Coinbase or embedded) to access advanced features like gas sponsorship or social recovery. Developers are required to adopt smart contract wallets (SCW), create flows to transfer assets, and more.

3/ For users, this can also get complex when having to explain the difference between EOAs and SCW, especially for users with existing wallets. For Web3 to reach mass adoption, it needs to be simple.

4/ Enter EIP-3074, which enables Smart Contract Wallet-like capability to be natively supported into your Externally Owned Account (EOA). No need for additional wallets.

5/ Instead of serving as a replacement, the additions brought by EIP-3074 complement the basics of existing EOAs and set them up for further enhancements from account abstraction.
