I often hear people say they want to move out of the city to raise kids.

But ironically the best place I can think of for my future kids to grow up would be Manhattan. That’s what I would have wanted for myself if I had known it was an option.

I grew up in Manhattan and after leaving for a few years for school, I 100% agree that I wouldn’t want to raise my kids anywhere else

Totally get why folks like the suburban life & that it’s not easy to live in NYC, but I feel like growing up in a big city gave me a world view and experiences I’ll never forget

I should've tagged you to begin with! did you ever feel like you needed to get out of the city and into nature as a kid? and how did you do that if so?

ahaha you’re all good! 

sometimes the city does become too much, things I’d do for that are: 
- went to hs at a big campus school in new jersey(my previous school was in a converted townhouse lol)
- go to other parts of the city like central park or parts of BK

I also had the HS out of city / on a campus experience!

makes sense tho Central Park is pretty big 😂
