what's the best web3 database/storage service rn? and would using a service like this require me running my own node(hosting an instance of a db, running a node in a network to pin my data, etc) genuinely curious if anyone has a best answer, i don't really have one

I still haven’t found anything better than json blobs on IPFS. Heard some folks using Ceramic and ComposeDB. Tableland is neat but not sure how decentralized it is.

My question with json blobs on IPFS is does that mean you need to run your own nodes or mini pinning service to ensure data availability?

I’ve had some meh experiences with ceramic but haven’t tried out compose db yet. If I could just use json on IPFS that would be great but data availability has been my biggest concern

Ya, ceramic is a bit hard to work with. Check out Orbis (built on Ceramic) for social app data structures. If you try ComposeDB lmk how the experience goes. 👍
