what's the best web3 database/storage service rn? and would using a service like this require me running my own node(hosting an instance of a db, running a node in a network to pin my data, etc) genuinely curious if anyone has a best answer, i don't really have one

i'm also a big fan of local-first software so it'd be interesting to think about some storage system that uses .md files or another file format to be local-first, but if this can all be done in one system that hopefully doesn't require a ton of architectural setup that would be ideal

i mean if i do need to run some sort of server/hub/db instance i'd do that, but just looking for a solid web3 storage solution instead of using something like supabase, planetscale, or gun.eco

Tbh I don’t have a great answer here but it’s something that’s been still on my mind a ton and that I find very important — maybe worth writing a post on some time

There’s a lot of current/upcoming infra I’m bullish on such as Farcaster Hubs, IPFS, Arweave Out of the folks who are already building products they think will replace a traditional DB, I don’t see a ton that practically make sense — but I see a ton of infra being built that will enable the right solutions
