What’s the most credible argument that the current president can’t run for re-election yet can continue with the world’s toughest job for another 100 days?

under this model, its more about biden's trajectory, ie he will be capable until election day but not capable of being president for another term, thus he can stay as president but can't run again

China invades Tawain on September 1st. Biden has to make the calls. Can’t remember the name of his secretary of defense.

its a hypothetical, if biden is unfit to run then he also shouldn't be president until the election since he wouldnt be fit to handle such an event i think it comes down to where you think he is in relation to the acceptability threshold

10/7 was a surprise. What if Russia uses a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine? Who decides on the response? History doesn’t wait for transitions.

Yea I agree with you that if he’s not fit to run then he also isn’t fit to serve next 100d My point is that the scenario in which he doesn’t run but does still serve the 100d would be because of the above model, where he is theoretically fit until the election but not after, so he chooses not to run Ofc that is contingent on the premise that he’ll be fit until the election, which is p arguably false. But just answering your q on what the argument is. Maybe the Dems believe he is still fit enough
