You can't legally store ECDSA keys in the cloud without a license in the US.

People are always surprised to learn that the US has laws and regulations that regulate which elliptic curves you need a license for in order to store on a web server on behalf of users.

Welp. That’s ridiculous.

But at least secure encryption isn’t subject to export controls as a munition anymore. 🙃

Super interesting! Has Farcaster considered using baby jubjub EdDSA as in https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-2494 ? Can cheaply wrap signature verification in a ZKP which is then very cheap to verify on chain!
