I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Soft limit is the best of all worlds. Show first x chars by default but allow casts to be longer. Also, X's implementation of soft limit is broken. I should be able to expand to the full post without having to load a new page.

Longform works when it's intentional and separate from the shortform stuff. A separate tab for "blog" alongside a profile's casts and likes would be neat. Not a fan of X's soft caps, personally.
