> I’m voting for the non-liberal candidate. I don’t care about the rationale or logic. Wild. There is no point in life that you make decisions in a vacuum but for some reason, politics is viable. I find mainstream conservatives an easy target because they rationalize their political beliefs to an absurd level.

Popular vote and massive shift right in the electorate would indicate otherwise.

Not much of a shift tbh. His vote % on eligible remained similar. Dems lost votes to non-voters and 3rd parties. Down ballot, leftist policies won.

From NY Times, shift was not minor https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/06/us/politics/presidential-election-2024-red-shift.html

Please read my cast first. NYT's data is % points, that's consistent with what I said. Dems lost 15 million votes. Trump won only 1 million extra (which is consistent with total eligible voters)

Where are you getting that 15 million number? https://x.com/NateSilver538/status/1856331742392545748

I was using actual figures from a few days ago, Nate's here is an estimation (probably will be more accurate in a few days). Also I was extrapolating the number from the # of eligible voters (244 vs 240) - 2% difference from that too. Ultimately you're right though - I think it'll look like Harris lost 7-8m votes, not 15m
