on july 4th, my dad introduced our extended family to "endurance tubing," a sport he invented. we tubed down shallow rivers for six hours under direct sunlight with no cell phones or food. unfortunately, my family couldn't handle it. we had to bail, walk barefoot across a golf course, and then hitchhike home

on the saco? I've done it there and on the russian river. worst sun burn I've ever had.

I've done Saco a few times (from Conway) and the water level was super low both times. I need to get back up there some day.
