Maybe there’s a point where client can sustain venture scale returns. Otherwise client has to crush VC returns or VC return expectations forces clients to capture protocol.

I expect most VC investments force clients to make decisions that aren’t optimal long term. Overtaken by non VC clients.

1/ How will Farcaster succeed if apps have to compete with Warpcast?

If there are enough daily active users of the protocol and the underlying data and APIs are actually permissionless, people will build new and interesting apps.

This has been the plan since the beginning (channels being a new thing along the way).

I have no doubt Farcaster will succeed. I have similarly high confidence in Merkle to steward the protocol to that point.

I don’t have the same confidence elsewhere.

When alt clients overtake Merkle (post protocol channels) either in users and or returns is when it gets interesting. I’d say sooner than later too.
