It is an app. He's just using iMessage + App Clips as the viral loop.

sure, but the usage is inside of another app if i understand correctly. like frames with an install step

Photo is sent as a link + app clip which allows for showing the photo and then an immediate sign up flow.

Will be good for viral growth. 

Curious if he can get retention to then use the main app as a full blown messaging app.
