CS really just has the perfect gameplay loop, in my opinion. It's also has a great case for longevity: - fast twitch reflexes help, but it's very cerebral/tactical. Older players can compete with no problem - it's easy to stay up to date (but the game doesn't feel stagnant) - my friends and me grew up with it
