When I tell my smart non crypto friends about Polymarket they’re like “yeah I already knew about Predictit. What’s the difference?” I’m looking to steelman Polymarket for the purpose of shock and awe-ing them into taking a more serious view of crypto. Any suggestions?

That’s not a crypto specific reason though. Instant transparency on live liquidity flows though? Ability to audit how it works and decision sources?

What fiat based prediction market has that much liquidity? :)

For sure. Do you think this was a relative coincidence or due to some special properties of crypto?

Wouldn’t say any prediction markets but I bet traditional sports books do volume. Bet365 has a line on US Election. They had $4.3B in revenue in 2023. Have no idea how much was bet and how odds shift — only they know that. It’s not in their interest for you to know
