This was correct. Blinks didn't take off because Twitter mobile app — where 90% of usage is — doesn't natively support Blinks (and actively nerfs links). Remember how worked up everyone in Ethereum got about the sexy launch video? Ignore the noise.

“Blinks didn't take off” – it's how most consumer products in crypto seem to go. But you're missing the bigger picture here. It's become the standard on Solana for aggregating transaction signing into one interface. That’s super powerful and not something you see happening anywhere else on internet. Browser extensions were just a hack to sart with. The real deal is the Actions spec. Pretty soon, you’re going to see every dApp on Solana rendering transactions with a UI inside the app itself, instead of sending users outside the platform to sign. It's becoming the standard for how UIs handle transactions. Just look at how Drip, Bags, and even @dingg (coming soon on Farcaster) use Actions to create awesome user experiences. Over 400 unique Blinks were created in just two months and i think this is an imprressive achievement. I think they are working really well.

it's definitely a plus if it works on desktop as well, but mobile is the first mover

Twitter's lack of support for Blinks hindered its success. Don't be swayed by hype

The Ethereum ecosystem came up w/ blinks back in 2017 and the concept never really took off then either: https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-681

I just spent 30 seconds on Twitter, and it's becoming an increasingly unpleasant experience—spam ads, scams, useless content. Keep building a new world Dan.
