Do you really own your community if you can’t control who can participate in it at the protocol level? Even at the client level, your plans are to show everything in the recent feed even though you are well aware of how much spam exists today and will probably only get worse.

1. You own the main feed. 2. Clients are free to implement whatever they want (spec is just a recommendation)

You own the main feed at the client level only if you are willing to use a tool like /automod, otherwise you have to use WC priority algo. You don’t own the main and recent feeds at the protocol level. Also, as a mod, will you be looking forward to curating casts from a really spammy recent feed?

1. You can manually moderate with any software / client that allows you to like a cast. No one is forcing you to use software you don't want to do. 2. Build your own client.

The best moderation for both feeds would be ability to gate write access at the protocol level. What's the prob with this? Moderation by liking casts could work well for main feed, but sounds like it's only at the client level if you want to get fancy and will need to depend on tools like automod.
