Is there a playbook for leveraging interns as a remote tech startup? is it worth the effort/time invested - how have you made it it work, if at all?

High variance, low EV pre-pmf imo Better to hire a full-time junior employee

+1, you don't want to waste time teaching them stuff. unless you are looking for a PA-type of person where the instructions are clear, it's better to look for plug-and-play employees.

yeah managing interns is a lot of work, especially for a small team, to then have that person leave after a short time. at least if you bring a student in as a contractor and can keep them around part-time they can support you for a long time. but better to do it when you are an established company.
