1/ On Farcaster growing and "changing" When we talk to developers, the number one thing they want is retained user growth. When we talk to early users, they don't want to lose the cozy feel of the network when it had fewer than <10K users.

2/ The goal is build a protocol that one day has 1 billion DAU. That requires developers to build dozens if not hundreds of interesting apps and services. We need to solve the existential problem (user growth) or this ends up as a science experiment. But the beautiful thing about a permissionless protocol...

fully optional front ends, algorithms, & so much more for any user for the first time in any social media platform that I’ve ever seen. increasingly prescient this is the #1 reason I am so excited for what’s being built

I like where your thinking is at but I don't think this will work unless everyone does it. The biggest change is change in norms and tone, and that happens collectively rather than subjectively. Dunking culture, performative toxicity, outrage farming, we all can end up slow boiling into it regardless of FID.

Somebody mentioned that when you say "Try a different client", it feels hollow, but I disagree. I don't give a shit about points, but it reinforced how I genuinely dgaf about degens.
