PolyAccountCasters - why create a channel when you can create an account for your project, allowing account followers to get your announcements? An account used to cost $12/year, now less. A channel costs $25? Doesn't the calculus change when there are 500+ channels, versus 100-ish channels?

Channels allow you to create a community. Also, no one actually wants to engage with a "brand" account.
