Semi-regular Warpcast annoyances thread If you were BDFOWF, what would you have us work on? BDFOWF = benevolent dictator for one warpcast feature The more specific the ask, the better!

<1% of people want https://warpcast.com/dwr.eth.json, but just think of the crazy cool stuff that <1% could do

All the data is available on Hubs? Warpcast isn't in the API business. Maybe Neynar?

Right, but reddit isn't a protocol.

Warpcast is a protocol? I thought FC was the protocol?

1. Farcaster is the protocol 2. Trivial to build a service to convert any profile into JSON with Hubs (open source) 3. If you don't want to run a Hub, use neynar.com

Nothing can be called trivial compared to https://warpcast.com/dwr.eth.json

The more I read about Bluesky/ATProto, [lack of onchain ownership aside] I appreciate how layered the protocol is so that it's really easy to run the equivalent of a hub but just for a tiny subset of the feed. Can run a relay with just your data (and maybe a few thousand customers) on a tiny $5/mo vps. It's comparatively way easier to subscribe to a tiny slice of the data feed/state. I recognize and get the startup mentality of narrow product focus, but there's a big solution space gap between saying "it's a protocol" and "just run a hub or use neynar", the protocol can be improved to reduce the infrastructure burden for things like this.
