What's something you find confusing about Farcaster or Warpcast?

No dumb questions—if it's confusing to you, likely confusing for others.

What was the fuss about the $0.99 transaction on Warpcast? I never saw it myself so I’m not sure if/how I would be affected by it.

Adding another Farcaster app requires an onchain transaction.

Warpcast abstracts away the crypto payment on mobile (partially because of App Store rules) to do it with in-app payments.

My theory is gas fee paid in ETH doesn't feel the same as $0.99 in "real money".

This is getting better soon but you can think of it in tiers

Tier 1 - prove to Example App that I'm @sdv.eth on Farcaster (i.e. authentication)

Tier 2 - give Example App a signer (an onchain proof) that allows that app to cast on my behalf

Tier 1 isn't onchain so should / will be free; Tier 2 is onchain so has cost

I’m unclear on “adding another Farcaster app”. Do you mean a user signing up to use Warpcast for the first time? Better yet, the onchain account creation process that happens once on any client?

And yes 100% agree with the theory. Seeing $0.99 on my credit card is weird but paying $100+ for a degen tx is normal.
