Upcoming channel changes

We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback.

These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners.

One important thing to consider with membership + single reverse chronological feed + hide:

Now, as a channel owner / moderator, you'll have 100% control of who and what appears in your channel's feed. 

Warpcast spam labels won't apply in your channel. 

If you add someone to your channel, they will appear to everyone in your channel regardless of whether people follow them are not.

how is this not just a formula for fragmented echo chambers of discourse? 😑

If you want to talk to anyone, cast outside of a channel.

addition, will channel owners have they option to turn off “invite only”? or is this compulsory? 🤨

also, is this at the client level or is this at the decentralized channel level? thats quite a massive impact to the way fc works and implications to the potential future of it if it applies across all clients it seems to me… wow 🤔

okay just wrapping my head around this. so these channel changes now making it much more controlled etc erc means they can just get rid of power badges and spam labelling stuff altogether now, right?  (obviously i get that “filtering” things will still be in place, but doesnt this render those things superfluous? (in which case woohoo, sounds great to me tbh)
