While in LA I hung with some chefs. Creative people through their forced relationship with time

But high end dinning in LA seems to be struggling (Hollywood cutting back, macro environment, etc) is leaving tables empty at acclaimed places, but still the drum beats on for the way things are done 

I find it fascinating to think that both film and cooking have yet to have major shifts like they had when baby boomers seized power 

Millennials & Gen Z clearly haven’t gotten a real chance to move either of these industries because old world thinking only allows distribution and presentational changes. Not reimaginations - even though we have grown up in the reimagined world of the Internet. 

This is my long winded way of saying, things may seem dark, but there is actually so much opportunity ahead of us because those in power of creative industries don’t have the perspective or imagination to create the new.

Imo a big part of this is studios are unwilling to take a chance on new productions. Would rather bid up live sports, conjure up new (or rebooted) reality shows, etc. Makes for an annoying, expensive, and fragmented experience
