"The new channels are terrible." 1. The old channels weren't working. So we opted to make a big, breaking change. Inevitably, some people were going to be upset. No risk, no reward. 2. We're actively improving channels. See the summary cast below for what we've already improved and what's on our radar. 3. Our next big project is onboarding new users directly to a channel so they have a Day 1 channel to cast in and a community of people. 4. If your claim is "no one likes the new channels and they didn't take user feedback into account", see the second cast below for a slice of the network happy with the changes. Again, not claiming perfection, but let's start from a baseline that the changes worked for some users and did not work for others. And we're working to improve them for the people it didn't work for. 6. I really like the changes this time, but I have a small request. Could you allow channel owners the freedom to choose whether to collapse comments from non-members or not?

I’m not frustrated at all but I personally think it would be nice to default to a trending feed vs. reverse chronological so if someone visits a channel they know what types of casts do well instead of seeing a lot of spam casts The reverse chrono is good for moderating though because they’re easy to find and hide

i just want a section to see ‘recent activity in channel since last visit’ that bumps reverse-chronologically so i can take part in ‘active’ convos and i think channels vs main feed scrolling would work perfectly for me

personally, i'm happy with the direction that the channels have moved towards. giving responsibility to the channel team is a great idea and it's only going to get better. people say they like change, but most hate change. pro tip - you'll go farther if you embrace change instead of resisting it.

Happy with everything about channels, noticed that you pulled mutual follows above the fold, much appreciated. one small comment, the channel feed is chronical, does this mean recast doesn't that make recast pointless? it would be great to have recast boost the cast up in channels a little.

I understand the rationale of the new channels.. What I don't understand is why ALL the posts have to be erased from ALL the channels. Even the channels where I was an admin. I'm still angry about it. You should've left that up to the channel owners.

Why do I have to ask the moderators to post on channels with 400,000 subscribers? I have posted on memes many times and maybe had a little effect on their growth. Now they want me to pay to cast. I’ve also been posting on not very active finance-related channels, and now I can’t cast. If I had known from the start, I would have started my own channel. There is an incredible amount of gatekeeping. Since Farcaster’s timeline is directly connected to channels, old accounts that created the major channels have an advantage over regular accounts. This is not decentralization; this is literally centralization.
