Every time I visit NY I reconfirm my prior that it’s impossible to build a $100B+ company because it’s too stimulating. SF (and really the Peninsula) is an order of magnitude less interesting because the status hierarchy is the hike you’re planning for Saturday and the default alcohol presence at a party is LaCroix.

Yep. When I moved to SF in 2010 I remember saying on a chilly windy night “why can’t Silicon Valley be in socal” and my coworker said “because then nothing would get built”
