how can new Farcaster clients compete with Warpcast while not being VC-funded? (besides channel-specific apps)

Build as an open source project / community. Build a new primitive or use case. Eventually, total number of DAU of protocol will be big enough to support multiple Warpcast-like clients as businesses. May be a while though.
